Zentangle: Name

I am the Diva Challenge #356 In this challenge, I was to tangle around my name. It is embedded in there somewhere.  I usually draw in Inkscape, but not this time. This time, I returned to my sketch book. I used a Micron pen and pencil.  I then photographed the drawing and was not at

Zentangle: Pattern Coil

Joey’s Weekly Challenge Number #208 This was drawn in Inkscape and modeled after the design on a container that I use to hold craft supplies. I drew it in response to Joey’s #208, finish my tile, challenge that starts with the pattern Coil. It is springtime; however, it is snowing. So, I thought I’d use

Zentangle: Several More Zentangles

I have the results of several challenges to share with you, but, before we get started, I want to explain a few things. First, all of these drawings were drawn in Inkscape, and all of the effects such as colors, shadows, bevels, and overlays were added using a very old version (version 3) of Photoshop.

Inkscape: Create Duplicates

In Inkscape, you can duplicate objects.  A duplicate is an exact copy of the original and Inkscape places it directly on top of the original making it indistinguishable from the original. You can use the Selector tool or any other method that enables you to move objects to move the duplicate to another location. Duplicate

Inkscape: Create a Polar Grid

When creating anything that has a circular design, I find using a polar grid helpful.  A polar grid is a system of nested circles divided into sections similar to pie slices. You can use it to precisely place each element in your design. Create a Polar Grid 1) Click Extensions > Render > Grids >

Inkscape: Rotate or Flip Objects

I explained in Lesson 1, that when you click on an object with the Selector tool and then click on it again, Inkscape displays rotation handles on the corners. You can drag them to rotate the object. If you look at the center of the object, you will see a small cross. This cross is
